Sacramento is increasingly becoming a focal point for international events, bringing both economic benefits and cultural enrichment to our community. Two notable events highlight this trend: the X Games League and Terra Madre Americas.
X Games League Comes to Sacramento
From June 26 to 28, 2026, Sacramento will host the X Games League at Cal Expo. This televised action sports festival will feature competitive skateboarding, BMX, and Moto X, drawing an estimated 35,000 attendees per day. The event is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the region and may lead to a potential three-year residency in Sacramento.
Terra Madre Americas: A Global Culinary Festival
In September 2025, Sacramento hosted Terra Madre Americas, a three-day global food festival that took over downtown’s SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and surrounding streets. Attendees sampled more than 75 types of cheese, seafood, coffee, and more from across North and South America. The event also featured outdoor concerts by indie rock bands Spoon and The War on Drugs, as well as cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs like Alice Waters and Sean Sherman.
These events not only boost our local economy but also position Sacramento as a vibrant, international city. They provide residents with unique opportunities to experience global cultures and attract visitors from around the world, further enhancing our city’s reputation on the global stage.
